Function
A CPU memory reset can be performed in STOP mode. A memory reset can be performed manually using the mode selector (MRES) or from the programming device, e.g. before loading a user program.
A memory reset resets the CPU to the "initial condition". This means that:
-
The entire user program in the work memory and in the RAM load memory and all operand areas are cleared.
-
The system parameters together with the CPU and module parameters are reset to the default setting. The MPI parameters set before the memory reset remain unchanged.
-
When a memory card (flash EPROM) or micro memory card is plugged in, the CPU will copy the user program from the memory card to the work memory. If the respective configuration data is also present on the memory card, the CPU and module parameters are also copied.
-
The diagnostics buffer, the MPI parameters, the time of day, and the runtime meter are not reset.
