Field device parameter settings (data record routing)
if you select this option, you can use the CP as a router for data records intended for field devices (DP slaves). Data records transferred by devices that are not connected directly to PROFIBUS and that therefore have no direct access to the field devices (DP slaves) can then be forwarded by the CP to the field devices.
SIMATIC PDM (Process Device Manager) is a tool that creates data records of this type for assigning parameters to field devices.
As default, this function is enabled. Since the function requires additional memory resources, you can turn off the option if you are putting a high load on the memory resources of the CP as a whole (connections etc.) and do not require the "Data record routing" function.
