Setting the DP slave type for PROFIBUS DP in the "Properties > General > Operating mode" parameter group.

DP mode

On CPs that support different DP slave types, you can select the following DP modes depending on the CP type:

  • DPV1 functionality (default mode)

    This includes DP slaves complying with the PROFIBUS DPV0 and DPV1 standard as well as Siemens DP slaves.

    This mode is only possible with certain CPU types. Refer to the information in the S7-CP manual for your PROFIBUS CP.

  • DPV0 compatible

    This includes DP slaves complying with the PROFIBUS DPV0 standard; DP slaves complying with the DPV1 standard can only be used with restricted functionality.

  • S7-compatible

    This includes DP slaves complying with the PROFIBUS DPV0 standard and Siemens DP slaves; DP slaves complying with the DPV1 standard can only be used with restricted functionality.
