"Immediate response when interrupted connection is detected" option

Meaning

If you set the "Immediate response when interrupted connection is detected" option, this means that if the connection is not available, the application immediately receives a code indicating that a communication job (FETCH or WRITE) cannot be executed. The code is sent regardless of whether or not a current attempt to establish the connections succeeds.

If you do not select this option, the application is informed of the nonavailability of a connection only when the connection times out.

The option described here is relevant and available only when the two modes listed below are used:

  • The connection is configured as a permanent connection.

Connections can be configured as permanently established connections (option in the "Details of connection establishment" tab). This means that jobs can be forwarded to the partner with the shortest possible reaction time without needing to establish the connection first.

If there is a disruption on the connection, the system automatically attempts to re-establish the connection. In this situation, there may be delays before a message can be forwarded to the application.

  • You are using the FETCH or WRITE job types (can be selected in the "Options" tab).

An immediate reaction is necessary only in certain situations with these job types if there is no connection.
